| Even
if you miss everything else, don't miss this. Your
life – your eternal life – depends on it.
Once
Upon a Tandem may
spark all kinds of discussions, soul searching and
even healthy debates about how and when God enters
the life of a new believer. But, at its core essence
the book strives to deliver two simple truths:
First, we need to ask Christ into our
lives. (Scholars call that moment “Justification.")
“He who has the Son
has the life; he who does
not have the Son of God
does not have the life.”
1 John 5:12
And,
second, we need to allow Him to work in our lives
to a point where we surrender completely to His will
and guidance. (That process is called “Sanctification.”)
“Be renewed in
the spirit of your mind, and put on
the new self,
which in the likeness of God has been created
in righteousness
and holiness of the truth.”
Ephesians 4:23, 24
If
you didn't recognize those two points in the story,
then – for heaven's sake – get off your computer
and go read the book again. You may also want to
stop by the Scripture for the Road page as well.
Blessings.
